WILLIAMSBURG — Cooper Parman did it all Monday night for Whitley County.
Parman delivered a home run and three RBI at the plate while also earning the win on the mound, leading his team to a 10-0 shutout victory over Harlan.
The Colonels (11-1) wasted no time taking control, scoring two runs in the first inning before adding four more runs in the second inning to build an early cushion.
Whitley County scored two runs in the third inning and two more runs in the fifth inning to put the game away.
“Cooper had a big day for us on the mound and hit a three-run home run,” Whitley County coach Jeremy Shope said. “So proud of Dee and Spencer. They gave us a huge lift in the bottom of the order. Spencer had three RBI and Dee had three hits. Everyone knows how valuable they are to us defensively, but to see them helping us offensively is exciting.”
Parman set the tone at the plate while Dee Parker turned in a perfect game at the plate, going 3-for-3 with three runs scored and a triple.
Kip Allen added a double and drove in a run while Caden Mountjoy and Spencer Bargo each recorded hits while Bargo also drove in three runs. Luke Hillard also had a hit and scored a run while Ethan Allen had a hit and scored.
On the mound, Parman was dominant, allowing just one hit over four innings while striking out five and not issuing a walk. Christian Wilson closed it out with a clean inning, striking out two batters to secure the combined shutout.
