LONDON — South Laurel entered Friday’s game against Somerset with a lot of momentum, but that quickly changed.
The Briar Jumpers jumped out to a quick lead and never looked back during their 42-21 win.
Somerset led 42-7 before John Hines squad scored the game’s final 14 points.
“We are very disappointed with ourselves and the way that we played in the game tonight,” South Laurel coach John Hines said. “Don’t wanna take anything away from Somerset. They’re a good football team, but we felt like we had a very poor performance in a lot of ways tonight. We played very undisciplined football and that’s not the Mark of our program. There were some bright spots. We were able to move the ball on occasion score points. Defensively we had some good drives and good stands.
“We have to use this as a learning experience, and simply focus on the next game,” he added. “We got worked iron out these mistakes, play more discipline, football, and be able to achieve our potential. I believe in this team, and I believe the potential is off the chart. We haven’t shown it yet, but we’re going to.”
