Mastin scores four as North Laurel blanks South Laurel, 6-0

LONDON— McKinley Mastin turned in a four-goal performance as North Laurel celebrated senior night with a dominant 6-0 victory over South Laurel.
Despite the emotions surrounding the pregame senior night ceremony, the Lady Jaguars quickly settled in and took control of the match.
“We had a lot of emotions to start the game tonight after our senior night ceremony, but our girls controlled the ball early and made good decisions on the field,” North Laurel coach Jason Welch said.
Mastin led the offensive attack, scoring twice in the opening half. Sarah Watkins added a goal on a free kick as North Laurel established control before halftime.
“McKinley Mastin had a huge game with two goals in the first half and two goals in the second half,” Welch said. “Sarah Watkins added a free kick goal in the first half, while Mia Thompson scored from deep, assisted by McKinley Mastin.”
North Laurel continued to control play after the break, with Mastin adding two more goals to complete her four-goal night and help the Lady Jaguars finish off the shutout.
Welch was also pleased with the contributions he received throughout his lineup.
“Our subs played great minutes tonight when the starters needed a break,” he said. “Overall, it may have been our most complete game of the season. I felt like we managed the game and controlled both halves tonight.”
