CORBIN — Corbin turned in a strong road performance, defeating North Laurel 25-11, 25-22, 25-14 to complete a 3-0 sweep on Thursday.
The Lady Redhounds set the tone early, controlling the opening set on their way to a 25-11 victory.
North Laurel responded with its best challenge of the night in the second set. The Lady Jaguars stayed within striking distance, but Corbin was able to make the plays it needed down the stretch to secure a 25-22 win and take a commanding 2-0 advantage.
“Road matches are always a good test for your team,” Corbin coach Krystal Jones said. “We’re happy to come away with the win tonight, and now our focus shifts to what’s next.”
Corbin regained control in the third set and never allowed North Laurel to extend the match. The Lady Redhounds pulled away for a 25-14 victory to finish off the sweep.
With plenty of volleyball still remaining, Jones said the focus remains on continued improvement.
“There’s still a lot of volleyball ahead of us, and we just want to keep getting better each time we step on the court,” Jones said. “Always proud of our girls. Go Hounds.”
