CORBIN — Corbin took care of business on its home floor, sweeping South Laurel in three sets to pick up an important 50th District volleyball victory on Tuesday.
The Lady Redhounds were consistent throughout the match, winning the opening two sets by identical 25-18 scores before putting together their most convincing performance in the third.
“District wins are important, and we were glad to get this one at home,” Corbin coach Krystal Jones said. “I thought our girls stayed together throughout the match.”
After taking control of the match with back-to-back 25-18 victories, Corbin didn’t allow South Laurel an opportunity to force a fourth set. The Lady Redhounds finished the night with a 25-15 victory in the third to complete the 3-0 sweep.
For Jones, the district victory was another opportunity for her team to continue improving as the postseason draws closer.
“At this point in the season, every match is an opportunity to grow and prepare for what’s ahead,” Jones said. “Always proud of our girls. Go Hounds.”
