LONDON — North Laurel’s regular-season finale against Wayne County came to an unexpected end Friday after an incident involving spectators from both teams resulted in the game being ruled a no contest.
The Jaguars were leading 21-12 with 6:34 remaining in the third quarter when spectators from both sides entered the playing field.
The incident prompted officials to halt the contest, which was ultimately declared a no contest before the third quarter could be completed.
North Laurel finishes regular-season play with a 4-5 record and will now turn its attention to postseason action.
The Jaguars will host East Jessamine next Friday in the opening round of the KHSAA Class 5A playoffs.
