RICHMOND — Corbin battled for the full 80 minutes and overcame a one-goal deficit to earn a 1-1 draw against Madison Southern in boys’ soccer action on Tuesday.
Madison Southern grabbed a 1-0 advantage, putting the Redhounds in comeback mode. Corbin continued to apply pressure, and Jeffery Carlos Martinez eventually found the back of the net to pull the Redhounds even.
“Really proud of the effort today,” Corbin coach Roger Taylor said. “We fought for 80 minutes to come back from 1-0 down and earn a 1-1 draw.”
After finding the back of the net late in the game, Corbin continued pushing forward in search of the go-ahead goal, but the Redhounds couldn’t find the finishing touch before time expired.
“We pushed hard for the winner but ran out of time,” Taylor said. “Excited about the progress made today.”
