LONDON — South Laurel’s struggles carried over into Saturday’s Martin’s Peterbilt Jon Hooker Memorial.
The Cardinals dropped games to both Southwestern (6-5) and Pulaski County (12-6), and are now have a four-game losing skid along with a 20-13 mark.
Game One
Southwestern 6, South Laurel 5
The Cardinals played catch-up most of the game before falling to Southwestern, 6-5.
Reece Noble collected three hits and scored twice in the loss while Carter Kelley hit a home run, and finished with two hits, two RBI, and two runs scored. Waylon Hensley also had a hit and an RBI.
Game Two
Pulaski County 12, South Laurel 6
The Cardinals’ losing skid is now at four games after dropping a 12-6 decision to Pulaski County.
The Maroons scored seven runs in the first inning and never looked back.
Quinn Strunk led South Laurel with three hits and two RBI while Brody Garland connected with two hits and drove in a run. Waylon Hensley finished with two hits while Bryson Turner had a hit and an RBI. Luka Jackson and Jackson Catching also drove in a run apiece.
