MIDDLESBORO — Middlesboro continued its impressive season with a dominant performance in the opening round of the KHSAA Class A football playoffs, defeating Lynn Camp 44-0 while two Yellow Jackets reached significant individual milestones.
The victory improved Middlesboro to 10-1 and advanced the Yellow Jackets into the second round of postseason play, while Lynn Camp saw its season come to an end with a 1-10 record.
Middlesboro’s offensive success was highlighted by standout performances from Amari Houston and Caden Lawson, who each reached the 1,000-yard mark in their respective categories.
Houston became just the second receiver in Middlesboro High School football history to record 1,000 receiving yards in a single season, adding his name to the program’s record books.
Lawson also reached a significant milestone, becoming the Yellow Jackets’ first 1,000-yard rusher in a season since 2022.
