Corbin takes two during Eli Hill Invitational

CORBIN — The Corbin Redhounds are looking to finish the regular season strong and took a step in that direction on Friday by defeating both Hazard (9-2), and South Warren (8-7) during Saturday’s Eli Hill Invitational. 

Game One

Corbin 9, Hazard 2

Bret Estep continues his impressive play, going 2-for-4 while driving in two runs to lead Corbin past Hazard, 9-2.

Estep also dominated on the mound, lasting five innings while allowing six hits, and two earned runs. Clay Botner secured the save while tossing the final two innings. He allowed only one hit and no runs and struck out two batters.

Malachi Zachary delivered a hit and two RBI while Trey Person finished with two hits, one RBI, and two runs scored.

The win improved the Redhounds to 15-14.

Game Two

Corbin 8, South Warren 7

Corbin built a comfortable 8-2 lead before holding off a late South Warren rally to pull off an 8-7 victory.

Trey Person continues to lead the way with a hit and three RBI while Bret Estep delivered two hits and two RBI. Jaden Broughton finished with two hits and scored twice while Levi Brock had two hits and one RBI. Cam Estep turned in a 2-for-3 effort with an RBI and two runs scored.

Brady Webb notched the win, working five innings while allowing five hits and two earned runs. He also had three strikeouts.
