Lady Redhounds cruise past Pineville with 13-1 win

PINEVILLE — Crystal Stidham’s Corbin Lady Redhounds have caught fire at the right time, winning their season-best fifth game in a row thanks to a 13-1 win over Pineville

Corbin connected with nine hits and took advantage of 11 errors to improve to 11-17.

The loss dropped Pineville to 9-9, as Rachel Howard turned in a stellar effort despite the loss. She struck out 15 batters while now allowing an earned run.

“One game at a time,” Stidham said. “So proud of my Lady Redhounds. Apple Terrell went to work on the mound collecting nine Ks, and only allowing five hits and one run. Our defense was there to back her up and take care of business, and the team showed up at the plate w nine hits and capitalizing on errors as well.

“Just very proud of their drive to play, the way they played for one another, and just great to pick up this win,” she added. “Rachael Howard is always a force on the mound, but we stayed the course and connected tonight. Mikaila Hopkins, Sawyer Stamper, and Izzy Walker all collected a couple hits each with Stamper collecting two doubles and two RBI. Mikaila Hopkins also collected two RBI along with Apple Terrell who on a triple scored two RBI.  Chloe Bays and Macie Santos each got a hit as well.

“It’s so awesome to see the girls reap the rewards of their hard work all season and having things come together,” she continued. “We are playing one game at a time, one day at a time, just trusting the process and I am just so proud of each of them. Let’s Go Lady Redhounds.”
