Bays collects five hits, Corbin wins fifth straight

PINEVILLE — Apple Terrell homered and drove in three runs while Chloe Bays turned in a five-hit performance Thursday night as Corbin rolled past Bell County, 18-6, for its season-best fifth straight victory.

The Lady Redhounds improved to 10-17 after piling up 22 hits and scoring in six of the seven innings.

Bays finished 5-for-6 with three RBI, while Terrell went 3-for-4 with a home run, double, three RBI and three runs scored. Sawyer Stamper added three hits and three RBI, Kaili Sanders collected two hits and three RBI, and Parker Davis finished with two hits and two RBI.

Macie Santos added two hits, two runs scored and an RBI for Corbin while Izzy Walker contributed two hits and an RBI. Lydia King also recorded a pair of hits in the win.

Corbin wasted little time offensively, scoring four runs in the first inning before adding runs in every inning except the sixth. The Lady Redhounds broke the game open with a seven-run seventh inning.

Stamper earned the win in the circle after striking out eight over seven innings. She allowed nine hits and six runs, but only two were earned.
