OBI Outpaces Lynn Camp in High-Scoring Showdown

CORBIN — Oneida Baptist used a dominant second quarter to take control and never looked back, defeating Lynn Camp 93–65 on Thursday as the Mountaineers improved to 6–8 on the season and the Wildcats slipped to 5–12.

Lynn Camp came out firing in the opening quarter, hitting five three-pointers to build a 21–17 lead.

Landen Rose knocked down two long-range shots and scored eight points in the period while Caleb Woods and Eisen Mayo added five points apiece.

Oneida Baptist responded in a big way in the second quarter, holding Lynn Camp to just six points while surging to a 42–27 halftime lead.

Skyler Roberts poured in 10 points during the quarter, and Aden Gregory added nine as the Mountaineers flipped the momentum.

The Mountaineers maintained control in the second half, taking a 67–42 advantage into the fourth quarter before pulling away down the stretch.

Tommy Branstutter led Oneida Baptist with 26 points while Roberts knocked down three three-pointers and finished with 19 points. Gregory chipped in 17 points as the Mountaineers showcased their offensive depth.

Lynn Camp was led by Rose, who finished with a game-high 33 points and buried seven three-pointers. Mayo added 12 points, while Woods and Kayden Powers scored nine points apiece.

Lynn Camp coach Marcus McKeehan said his team showed fight despite the tough second quarter.

“Really good first quarter, maybe the best we’ve played all year,” he said. “We were attacking and sharing the basketball, getting open looks from the outside. We had the lead, and went cold second quarter. We shot the ball well enough to win, making 13 threes. OBI has a tremendously talented team and we hung with them for most of the night. We knew coming in it would be a tough task. They have shooters and athletes. We will continue to work and get ready for our district games coming up.”
