MANCHESTER — Clay County overcame inconsistent momentum and continued experimenting with different roles on the court to secure a 3-1 victory over Oneida Baptist in volleyball action.
The Lady Tigers were effective with their serving and attacking during the first and third sets, while improved communication helped them work through stretches when they struggled to establish momentum.
Clay County coach Kendall Deaton Culver was pleased with the way her team continued to adjust and find a way to finish the match, securing another district victory in the process.
“I challenged the team to find ways to strengthen their floor communication,” Culver said. “It showed through set one and set three. I was really impressed with consistently serving and attacking in those sets. We struggled to find momentum for the entirety of the game, but they pulled it off.
“This team is hungry to win and battle through,” she added. “We played with some different roles on the court again tonight, and they continue to show they can adjust to get the job done. That’s what it takes, and we plan to continue to adjust to grow. Proud to have another district game secured.”
