RICHMOND — Lynn Camp hung tough during its Tuesday matchup with Model, but in the end the Patriots got hot and pulled away with an 83-65 victory.
Landen Rose led the Wildcats with 25 points while Conner Mabe had 13 points and Caleb Woods scored 12 points. Elijah Mayo also scored in double figures, finishing with 10 points.
“Really proud of our kids fight,” Lynn Camp coach Marcus McKeehan said. “
We were right there in the game at 20-all in the second quarter and Model got really hot and made 6 threes in about a three-minute span. Our kids could have folded then multiple times we got down by around 25-30 in third quarter but kept playing and cut it down to about 13.
“Our kids never quit and made it a game,”
He added. “We shot the ball well, Landen Rose and Caleb Woods are shooting with confidence and Conner Mabe continues to attack and scrap. Another good game from Elijah Mayo as well. We will get back to work and get ready for a huge game in the All A Classic play in game as we host district rival Pineville on Thursday. Our kids know that Pineville is the defending district and region All A Classic champions. We are looking forward to competing on Thursday.”
