The Corbin Lady Redhounds turned in a dominant performance Saturday, rolling past Providence Christian School 68-24 to improve to 6-2 on the season.
“Great team effort today by everyone,” Corbin coach Isaac Wilson said. “We had 12 kids score and everyone contributed in all aspects of the game. Felt that we were the most connected as a team today and that is promising as we have plenty of season left. I would like to see us build off of today’s effort and see where we can be in a few months.
“Anytime you play in a tournament you want to compete and play well and I feel our group did that today,” he added. “We will have a great challenge in our semifinal game and we look forward to take the floor again on Monday at 3 p.m.”
Corbin set the tone early, taking a 12-6 lead after the first quarter as Lynnlee Pietrowski scored four points in the opening period. The Lady Redhounds showed their depth from the start with five different players finding the scoring column in the first eight minutes.
The game broke open in the second quarter as Corbin poured in 22 points to stretch its lead to 34-14 at halftime.
Izzy Walker and Lydia King each knocked down a 3-pointer while scoring five points apiece in the period. Aubree Clemens and Kalley Stewart added four points each.
Corbin continued to control the game after the halftime, outscoring Providence Christian 20-7 in the third quarter to take a commanding 54-21 lead entering the fourth. Cami Price led the way in the quarter with nine points while King added five and Pietrowski chipped in four.
The Lady Redhounds’ balanced attack was on full display as 12 different players scored in the victory. Price led Corbin with 14 points, King finished with 12, and Pietrowski added eight points.
