Lynn Camp Falls to Thomas Walker, Va., 61-50

THOMAS WALKER, VA. — Thomas Walker, Va. used its size and physicality to pull away late, handing Lynn Camp a 61-50 loss as the Wildcats fell to 3-6 on the season.

Lynn Camp coach Marcus McKeehan credited his team’s effort while acknowledging the matchup challenges.

“Just ran into a very big and physical team with 6-8, 6-6, and 6-4 across the board and a really good fast downhill point guard who had 26 who was a tough matchup for us,” he said. “Kids played a really good first quarter and played as hard as we could’ve played the last five minutes of the ballgame,” McKeehan added. “We have to continue to focus on maintaining that effort and focus the entire 32 minutes of the ball game.”

Lynn Camp came out with energy and confidence, getting seven first-quarter points from Landen Rose and five from Caleb Woods to take a 13-10 lead after the first quarter.

The Wildcats battled throughout the first half but trailed 29-23 at halftime as Thomas Walker.

The gap widened in the third quarter with Thomas Walker pushing taking a 46-29 lead entering the fourth quarter.

Rose led the Wildcats with a strong offensive performance, pouring in 23 points while Conner Mabe added nine points and Woods finished with eight.
