Wildcats Win Second Straight, Improve to 2-1

LEXINGTON — Lynn Camp is starting to find its stride early in the season, picking up its second straight win with a convincing 68–42 victory over Trinity Christian on Saturday. 

The Wildcats controlled the game on both ends of the floor, showcasing balanced scoring, dominant rebounding, and strong defensive pressure.

Coach Marcus McKeehan praised his team’s overall performance on Saturday.

“Great team win and a total team effort today,” he said. “Our kids played with a lot of energy and dominated the boards the entire game. We have focused since the opening game on rebounding and limiting our turnovers.”

Senior leader Caleb Woods continued to be the engine of the offense, running the team with poise while dishing out five assists and maintaining control of the game’s tempo.

Conner Mabe came up big once again, posting a 15-point, 15-rebound double-double to help the Wildcats own the glass. His inside presence set the tone from the opening tip.

Defensively, Eisen Mayo led the charge with five steals, applying relentless on-ball pressure while also adding four assists and 13 points in a strong all-around performance. Eli Mayo, remains one of the region’s most reliable sixth men, giving Lynn Camp a spark off the bench.

Kayden Powers added toughness with eight rebounds, while Landen Rose delivered a standout outing, finishing with 17 points and seven rebounds. DJ Wren also provided valuable minutes with his physicality and defensive presence.

McKeehan noted the team’s improvement in key areas since opening night

“We had 40 total rebounds and only had six turnovers,” he said. “We have increased our rebounding each game since Owsley County game and decreased our turnovers since that game and that’s been our entire focus. Overall, great team win and we will get back to work tomorrow to get ready for a big game Tuesday night against rival Middlesboro.”
