Corbin Uses Hot Shooting to Cruise to 69–35 Victory

CORBIN — The Corbin Lady Redhounds continued their strong start to the season Thursday night, using a fast-paced attack and a barrage of 3-pointers to roll past Middlesboro, 69-35.

Corbin jumped ahead 17-9 after the first quarter, stretched the lead to 40-23 at halftime, and held a 52-30 advantage entering the fourth while controlling the game on both ends of the floor.

Addy Wilson powered the Lady Redhounds with 18 points and four 3-pointers while Lydia King added 15 points, draining two 3-pointers of her own. Aubree Clemens scored nine, and Corbin finished the game with seven 3-pointers.

Middlesboro was led by Emily Lambert’s 15 points while Millie Roberts chipped in 10 points.

Corbin coach Isaac Wilson praised his team’s overall effort while noting areas they plan to sharpen.

“Proud of our effort tonight,” Wilson said. “It was a good team win and I thought everyone that got in the basketball game contributed in a positive way. I thought in the first half we fouled at a high rate and put them on the free throw line and we have to work on that moving forward.

In the second half, we were much more discipline on the defensive end and was able to keep them off the free throw line which helped contribute to our good defensive play in the second half,” he added. “Hopefully, we are able to carry over some of tonights momentum into our game tomorrow against a good Hazard team out of the 14th Region.”

Corbin returns to action Friday, looking to build on the momentum again
