Jaguars hang tough in 3-2 road loss to Madison Southern

RICHMOND — North Laurel continues to play a tough slate with hopes of the experience paying off once postseason play begins.

The Jaguars (1-2-1) hung tough on the road Tuesday before falling to Madison Southern, 3-2.

“We started off the game really well,” North Laurel coach David Broyles said. “We were aggressive and possessed the ball better than we had been. We scored first when Jaxon Jacobs found Zachary Jacobs for the game’s opening goal. We had a let up defensively and fouled in the box to give them a PK to tie it. In the second half, we came out really flat and gave up two quick goals to put ourselves in a hole. We fought back and Cam Anderson scored to get us back to within one goal, but time ran out on our rally.

“We played hard tonight, but we have to be technically sound and it just wasn’t there tonight,” he added. “We have to regroup and get it fixed quick as we play a really good Pulaski County team on Thursday. I believe in this team and I’m confident they will figure it out and fix the things that need to be fixed.”
