CORBIN — Crystal Stidham’s Corbin Lady Redhounds got back into the win column with a 19-0 shutout win over Williamsburg on Thursday.
Corbin (7-10) pounded out 15 hits while scoring four runs in the first inning, seven runs in the second inning, and eight runs in the third inning.
“Always good to pick up a district win,” Stidham said. “Proud of my girls, they played great. Got our bats rolling early and was able to get things going right out of the gate. Apple led off with a double followed by Danni and Raegan with a double and Mo picked up a triple and picked up home on the same at bat. Energy was up and team followed. Hits were contagious. Several were poised at the plate waiting for the right pitch as well. Then Apple pitched well in the circle only allowing one hit and striking out four in 3 innings of work. “Defense took care of the rest, it was a great game making the right plays and working together as a team,” she added. “Just proud over all of all my girls. I was able to play everyone with the exception of two out due to injuries, and almost everyone was able to get in a couple at bats. It’s always good to get varsity reps for everyone. Just a great night for our team. Let’s Go Lady Redhounds.”
Apple Terrell picked up the win in the pitcher’s circle, allowing one hit while striking out four batters.
Terrell also did damage at the plate, helping her own cause by going 4-for-4 with two RBI, and three runs scored. Danni Foley was 2-for-2 with two RBI, and two runs scored while Morgan Hicks connected with a home run, finishing 2-for-2 at the plate with three RBI, and two runs scored. Landry Gentry and Mikaila Hopkins both went 1-for-1 with two RBI, and two runs scored while Parker Davis, Raegan Walker, and Makenna Wilson each finished one-for-one with an RBI and two runs scored. Chloe Bays went 1-for-1 with an RBI, and a run scored while Olivia Anderson finished with a hit and a run scored. Allie Neeley finished with a run scored and an RBI while Kaili Sanders scored once.
Kenzie Rice collected Williamsburg’s (2-16) lone hit.
