WILLIAMSBURG — South Laurel received goals from Bella Comley and Emily Smith while turning in a strong defensive performance to shut out Whitley County, 2-0, on Tuesday.
The victory improved South Laurel to 3-5-1 on the season, while Whitley County moved to 5-5.
“I am so proud of this team,” South Laurel coach Amy Corum said. “They were connecting passes and playing confident the whole game.”
Comley provided one of the Lady Cardinals’ two goals, while Smith found the back of the net for the other as South Laurel was able to capitalize offensively.
On the other end of the field, the Lady Cardinals kept Whitley County off the scoreboard to preserve the clean sheet.
