Slow start dooms Jaguars during 35-14 loss to Lawrence County

LONDON — North Laurel’s uncharacteristic second game in four days didn’t turn out the way the Jaguars wanted.
Steven Nelson’s squad had hopes of keeping the momentum they received going after last Friday’s win over South Laurel during Tuesday’s matchup against Lawrence County, but it didn’t happen.
The game was started on Sept. 18, but inclement postponed it at halftime, and the game picked up at the start of the third quarter with the Bulldogs leading 13-7.
Lawrence County was able to finish the game off by scoring 22 straight point before the Jaguars found paydirt with less than three minutes remaining as the Bulldogs won, 35-14.
The loss drops North Laurel to 4-5. The Jaguars will finish regular season play Friday on the road against Wayne County.
