MONTICELLO — Corbin came through in two tightly contested sets to pick up a road victory over Wayne County, winning 25-22, 26-24 on Monday.
The Lady Redhounds were tested in both sets, but made the plays they needed down the stretch to secure the win.
“We’re happy to come away with a road win,” Corbin coach Krystal Jones said. “We have some things we need to clean up, but I’m proud of our girls and the way they continue to compete.”
After taking the opening set 25-22, Corbin had to battle even harder in the second. Wayne County pushed the Lady Redhounds beyond 25 points before Corbin finished off the match with a 26-24 victory.
With the road win secured, Jones and the Lady Redhounds quickly turned their attention toward an important 50th District matchup.
“Our focus now shifts to a big district game tomorrow night,” Jones said. “Go Hounds.”
