MIDDLESBORO — South Laurel used a balanced offensive attack with eight different players finding the back of the net as the Cardinals rolled to an 8-0 victory over Middlesboro in boys soccer action.
“We got an 8-0 win tonight,” South Laurel coach Brooks Cawood said. “I thought we had spurts where we passed the ball well and were able to work it around.”
Miles Kitzmiller and Drew Allen each converted a penalty kick for the Cardinals, while Eli Williams, Chris Ramirez, Ryan Martinez, Blake Robinson, Angel Lopez and Kelan Littlejohn also scored goals.
Despite the final margin, Cawood said Middlesboro’s speed presented some challenges for the Cardinals and felt there were stretches where his team lost some of its concentration.
“Then there were times where we lost focus, but overall proud of the players,” Cawood said. “Middlesboro is very fast and caused us a few issues.”
