RICHMOND — North Laurel’s offense stayed red hot Tuesday night.
The Lady Jaguars (25-2) blasted four home runs and pounded out 19 hits as North Laurel rolled past Madison Southern 17-6 on the road for its 15th consecutive victory.
“Really good game from our girls tonight,” North Laurel coach Chris Edwards said. “Hits up and down the lineup, four home runs also, really pleased with how we seen the ball tonight. We played Madison Southern earlier in the year and struggled with them.
“Multiple hits from Emma, Katie Sams, Bella Finley, Tessa, Lucy Jo, Presley, Katie Keen, and Reeselynn,” he added. “Home runs from Emma, Katie Sams and two from Presley.
“A good outing again from Caylee in the circle,” Edwards continued. “She has had a long time without pitching due tour schedule and she fought through a couple of walks. Still did a great job limiting any damage from those. Alex Allen came in and got the last 3 outs with no runs. Getting her some varsity experience was good tonight. Proud of the way we responded after the long night last night. Go Jags.”
Presley Griffin led the power surge, finishing 3-for-4 with two home runs and three RBI.
Emma Carl had a huge night as well, going 2-for-4 with a home run and four RBI.
Katie Sams added a homer and drove in three runs while Lucy Jo Linville went 3-for-4 with two RBI. Katie Keen collected three hits and two RBI, and Reeseyln Garland added two hits and an RBI.
Tessa Monhollen and Bella Finley each chipped in two hits as the Lady Jaguars scored 10 runs in the second inning to seize control.
North Laurel trailed 1-0 after the first inning before catching fire at the plate. The Lady Jaguars added six more runs in the fourth inning and another in the fifth inning to finish with 17 runs on 19 hits without committing an error.
Caylee Singleton earned the win in the circle after pitching four innings, allowing six runs on six hits while striking out four. Alex Allen tossed a scoreless fifth inning in relief.
