Redhounds suffer 5-2 setback to Madison Southern 

CORBIN — Corbin hung tough, but a two-inning rally from Madison Southern proved to be the difference Saturday.

The Eagles broke a scoreless tie with two runs in the fourth inning and followed with three more in the fifth inning while building a cushion that carried them to a 5-2 win over the Redhounds.

Corbin (13-12) managed just three hits on the day but scored a pair of runs in the sixth inning to its deficit. Cam Estep and Paul Viars each delivered hits with Viars driving in a run while Malachi Zachery also added an RBI as the Redhounds tried to rally late.

On the mound, Bret Estep kept Corbin within striking distance early, tossing four innings and striking out seven while allowing two runs. Madison Southern, capitalized after his exit, scoring three runs to take control.

Easton Hendrickson and Carson Taylor combined in relief to finish the game for the Redhounds with Taylor providing 2.2 innings of scoreless work.
