Jaguars capture fourth straight win, knock off Jackson County, 15-5

MCKEE — North Laurel built a 13-0 lead after three and a half innings of play, and never looked back during its second win over Jackson County in as many days with a 15-5 victory on Tuesday.

The Jaguars (9-7), who have now won four in a row, totaled 14 hits in the win.

“Always good to get a win,” North Laurel coach Darren McWhorter said. “We hit the ball well tonight up and down the lineup. Pitchers threw well enough to secure the win and defensively we played solid. Hopefully, we can keep it going and continue to get better every game.”

Ashton Napier led the way at the plate with a 3-for-4 effort that saw him connect with a home run while driving in three runs and scoring three times. Zach Johnston drove in two runs along with Bradyn Evans. Colter Elza had two hits, three runs scored and an RBI while Cam Smith also drove in a run.

Evans got the win, tossing 3.1 innings while striking out two batters.
