CORBIN — Corbin made its return to the newly renovated high school gym a successful one, turning in a dominant performance to sweep Williamsburg in 50th District volleyball action on Thursday.
The Lady Redhounds set the tone immediately, rolling to a 25-5 victory in the opening set. Corbin remained in control from there, taking the second set 25-12 before closing out the district victory with a 25-14 win in the third.
For Corbin coach Krystal Jones, the night was made even more meaningful by the opportunity to play the team’s first game back inside the renovated gym while also picking up an important district victory.
“It was a special night getting to play our first game back in the newly renovated high school gym, especially with it being a district matchup,” she said. “I thought our girls played really well and, more importantly, played together. This was truly a team win. Everyone pulled their weight tonight and did their job when their number was called.
“I’m proud of the way we competed, and we’ll keep working to get better each time we step on the court,” Jones added. “As always, it’s a great day to be a Redhound.”
