CORBIN — Easton Ramsey and Noah Gray set the tone early, and Knox Central never slowed down during its 50th District matchup with the Lynn Camp Wildcats.
Both players connected with home runs as the Panthers pulled off an easy 17-9 win on Tuesday.
“Good first district win,” Mike Bright said. “Got to play a lot of our young guys and they all played well.”
Knox Central pounded out 11 hits and scored in every inning while improving to 8-6 on the season.
The Panthers scored four runs in the first inning, added nine runs in the second inning before wrapping up the win with four runs in the third inning.
Ramsey finished 2-for-2 with four RBI, a home run and two runs scored while Gray went 2-for-2 with two RBIs, a home run and two runs scored.
Trevor Smith went 2-for-3 with two RBI while Brady Engle chipped in with two hits and two runs scored.
Jonathan Hobbs had a hit and scored twice while Tate Marcum delivered a hit and an RBI.
On the mound, the Panthers were just as dominant, combining to allow just two hits while striking out a combined seven batters in the shutout effort, while Matthew Powenski got the win.
