Partin powers Lynn Camp rout; Seventh grader Knuckles dominates in pitcher’s circle

CORBIN — Lauren Partin set the tone at the plate, and Raegan Knuckles took care of the rest in the circle.

Partin went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs scored and two RBI while Knuckles, just a seventh grader, delivered a strong outing to lead Lynn Camp to a 16-1 win over Jellico on Tuesday.

The Lady Wildcats (3-8) wasted no time taking control, scoring four runs in the first inning before continuing to build their lead throughout the game.

Knuckles was in control from the start to finish, allowing just one hit and one run over four innings while striking out one and walking one to earn the win. She also had a hit, an RBI, and one run scored.

At the plate, Lynn Camp piled up 14 hits and 16 runs in a total team effort.

“We played a good, complete game tonight,” Lynn Camp coach Nikki Hendrix said. “Still need to work on some things, but are moving in the right direction. Reagan pitched a great game and the defense made some good plays to help her. We had some good hits tonight too and that gave our girls some confidence.”

Julie Moore, continued her recent surge at the plate, adding two hits (double and triple), driving in three runs and scoring four times. Lily Henize finished with two hits, three runs scored, and an RBI while Emma Burnette and Lorelai Prewitt each recorded two hits and drove in a run.

The Lady Wildcats broke the game open with a seven-run fourth inning, after building a 9-1 edge, putting the finishing touches on a dominant performance while capturing their second win in a row.
