BARBOURVILLE — Behind a dominant performance from Kairi Lamb, the Bell County Lady Bobcats rolled to a 63–39 win over the Barbourville Lady Tigers Friday night, improving to 17–5 on the season.
Lamb powered the Lady Bobcats with 22 points and 18 rebounds, controlling the paint on both ends of the floor while also finishing strong at the free-throw line. Her presence inside helped Bell County take control and never look back.
“Good road win on a back to back night of games,” Bell County coach David Teague said. “Thought the kids played well and had several contribute in different areas. Barbourville plays hard and they did a good job of making us work. We had to play with a little foul trouble and felt the girls stepped up.”
Bell County led just 12–11 after the first quarter, but the game turned in the second. The Lady Bobcats locked in defensively and outscored Barbourville 16–4 in the second quarter to take a 28–15 halftime lead.
The Lady Bobcats kept the pressure on in the second half, extending the lead in both the third and fourth quarters to put the game away.
Nevaeh Allen added 15 points, knocking down four 3-pointers to stretch the defense. Mattie Hatfield scored eight points, Aubree Miracle added six points, and Bristal Jordan chipped in eight points.
Bre Engle led Barbourville with 13 points while Marleigh Martin added 11 points. Layla Brock chipped in nine points.
