WILLIAMSBURG — The Corbin Lady Redhounds picked up a key 50th District win, defeating Whitley County on the road Tuesday, 60-41.
The Lady Redhounds improved to 9-6 overall and 2-1 in district play.
Aubree Clemens led Corbin with 15 points while Lydia King and Lynnlee Pietrowski scored 10 points apiece.
“Another good win for our team tonight,” Corbin coach Isaac Wilson said. “We played a ton of young kids who were able to get some valuable experience tonight. The 50th district is a tough district and anytime you can win a game it is a good thing for your program. Many kids came in and contributed tonight and that has sort of been our theme for this season. Our depth has been key in many games and I feel it was a key to tonight’s win.
“We just have to keep improving each day and working on being the best version of us,” he added. “Proud of our kids tonight and want them to enjoy this one. We will look to continue building on our recent momentum in our next game against Bell County.”
The loss dropped the Lady Colonels to 7-9 overall and 1-2 in district play. Maddy Hopkins led Whitley County with 31 points.
