LONDON — Bell County continued its strong stretch of play Saturday with an 85-54 win over Knox Central at the Raymond Reed Classic, pushing its winning streak to seven games.
The Bobcats improved to 12-2 on the season with the victory, while Knox Central fell to 8-5 and suffered its second straight loss.
Bell County set the tone early with a fast start and built a sizable lead in the opening quarter. The game turned physical before halftime, but the Bobcats settled in and pulled away in the second half behind strong defensive pressure and efficient scoring.
Braxton Ferguson led Bell County with 24 points while knocking down 3-of-6 shots from beyond the arc. Blake Burnett followed with 18 points, and Jaxon Thomas added 17 as the Bobcats placed three players in double figures.
“It was an up and down game for our guys,” he said. “We came out and had a great 1quarter and got off to a big lead and then the game got physical it bothered us a little going into the half, but I’m proud how our guys settled down in the second half and pushed the lead on out.
“We had a lot of guys who stepped up today and played great defense in our press and battle on the board,” Sizemore added. “We knew it was going to be a hard game, so I’m pleased how our guys kept their composure and finished off the game .”
