Corbin, Whitley, South Laurel and Williamsburg Stand Out at Whitley County December Invite

WILLIAMSBURG — Four 13th Region programs delivered strong, early-season performances Saturday, during the Whitley County December Invite at the Patriots Aquatic Center, with Corbin, Whitley County, South Laurel, and Williamsburg each producing top finishes and relay highlights.  
Corbin turned in one of the day’s most impressive overall efforts, winning nine boys’ events and powering its way to a first-place overall combined team finish with 435 points.  
The Redhounds opened the meet with a victory in the 200 medley relay (1:59.93), then continued rolling behind standout swims from Liam Flynn, Aiden Senel, Blake Butler, Kindoll Barton, and others.  
•    Flynn won the 200 free (2:09.81).
•    Senel took the 100 fly (56.00) and later dominated the 500 free with a 5:07.55.
•    Butler won the 50 free (23.92) and the 100 breast (1:14.33).
•    Barton added top finishes in the 100 free and helped Corbin sweep the relays.  Corbin’s boys also placed first in the 200 free relay (1:47.63).  
Meet host Whitley County showcased its consistency and depth, finishing second overall with 423 points and capturing the women’s team championship with 307 points.  
Whitley excelled, especially on the girls’ side.
•    Taylor Davis won the 200 IM (2:52.54) and placed second in the 50 free.
•    Kinsley Bunch had a standout day, winning both the 100 fly (1:13.30) and 100 back (1:14.62).
•    The Lady Colonels’ 200 medley relay and 200 free relay both finished runner-up with competitive times.  
On the boys’ side, Byron Helton earned a win in the 100 back (1:19.92), while strong scoring performances from Colin McQueen, Coyt Jackson, and others helped keep Whitley near the top of the leaderboard.  
South Laurel’s girls delivered several strong performances, headlined by Lillie Queen, who won both the 200 free (2:21.23) and the 500 free (6:26.13).  
The Lady Cardinals also posted:
•    A third-place finish in the 200 medley relay (2:25.12).
•    A third-place finish in the 200 free relay behind strong legs from Burns, Barton, Tibbs, and Queen.
•    Solid contributions throughout the sprint events, including top-10 finishes from Olivia Tibbs, Lily Barton, and Gracie Burns.  
South Laurel placed third overall in combined scoring with 248 points.  
Williamsburg showed improvement and competitiveness throughout the meet, highlighted by several individual standouts. The Yellow Jackets finished fourth overall in combined scoring and produced multiple silver-medal performances.  
•    Jack Brooks finished second in the 100 fly (1:14.37) and second in the 500 free (6:33.55).
•    In the boys’ 200 medley relay, Williamsburg recorded a strong time of 2:34.55.
•    Gage Smith earned 10 points in the 200 free, and added another top-five finish in the 100 breast (1:46.78).
•    On the girls’ side, Maci Wilson added scoring in the 200 free and 100 breast.  
Williamsburg’s boys also finished fifth in the men’s team standings with 46 points.
