CORBIN — The Corbin Redhounds continued their postseason surge Friday night, overpowering the Lincoln County Patriots, 47–14, to advance to next week’s Class 4A, Region 4 championship against Highlands.
Corbin wasted no time taking control.
Cole Stevens opened the scoring with a 60-yard touchdown run at the 6:14 mark of the first quarter, then added a 7-yard touchdown with 2:21 left to put the Redhounds ahead 14–0 after one.
Early in the second quarter, the defense delivered a game-breaking moment when Cam Estep jumped a pass and returned it 97 yards for a touchdown, pushing the lead to 20–0.
Stevens continued his big night by punching in a 21-yard score with 7:04 remaining, and later caught a 21-yard touchdown pass from Mason Salmons with 2:00 left in the half, extending the advantage to 33–0 at the break.
Corbin (9-3) added to its lead in the third quarter when Salmons connected with Estep for a 12-yard touchdown, making it 40–0. Lincoln County got on the board with a 25-yard touchdown pass late in the period.
In the fourth quarter, Jack Jackson’s 15-yard touchdown run put Corbin ahead 47–7 with 7:35 remaining.
Lincoln County added a late touchdown to set the final score at 47–14.
The Redhounds now prepare for a trip to Highlands in next week’s Class 4A, Region 4 title game.
