MCKEE — Jackson County came away with a 26-0 victory over Lynn Camp on Friday in a game that was called because of weather conditions.
The win went to the Generals, while the Wildcats fell to 0-5 on the season.
Lynn Camp coach Allen Mitchell said he was disappointed his team didn’t get an opportunity to play the second half, especially after seeing improvement from the Wildcats against the run.
“Hated that the game got called, but there was no good solution,” Mitchell said. “We blew coverage in the secondary three times, but our run defense was vastly improved.”
Despite facing a 26-point deficit when play was stopped, Mitchell believed the Wildcats were capable of making things interesting had the game been able to continue.
“I really feel like if we could have played the second half, we would have been able to make a real game of it,” Mitchell said. “I’m proud of our kids because they fought hard and we were able to start seeing improvement in most every aspect of our team.”
