Jaguars’ late rally falls short in loss to Madison Central

RICHMOND — Madison Central scored eight runs from the third to fifth innings to defeat North Laurel, handing the Jaguars an 8-4 loss Monday.

The game was tight early before Madison Central broke through with five-runs across the third through fifth innings, turning a scoreless contest into an 8-1 advantage. North Laurel (14-11) showed life late with three runs in the seventh inning, but couldn’t get any closer.

The Jaguars finished with seven hits and were led by Cooper Elza, who went 3-for-4 with a triple and an RBI. Eli Holt added two hits and a run while Cam Hinkle and Ashton Napier each chipped in a hit and a run, with Napier also driving in a run.
