MIDDLESBORO — Larry French’s Middlesboro Yellow Jackets wasted little time advancing to second round action of the Class A playoffs, defeating Harlan, 56-6, on Thursday.
Middlesboro improved its record to 10-0 on the season and will face off against Hazard next Friday at home.
The Yellow Jackets and Bulldogs have played 19 times with both teams winning nine games apiece while one game was a tie.
Middlesboro has won seven of the last 10 meetings between the two teams while Hazard won the last meeting in 2022, 42-24.
The Bulldogs enter the game with a 5-6 mark.
