North Laurel Rolls Past Whitley County, Advances to 49th District Title Game

LONDON — North Laurel punched its ticket to the 49th District Girls’ Soccer Tournament championship game with a dominant 8-0 win over Whitley County on Wednesday.

The Lady Jaguars (9-5) came out firing and never looked back, getting big nights from their offensive leaders. Lauren Crouch scored four goals, while Haley Combs added three goals. McKinley Mastin chipped in one goal and two assists to help pace the attack.

“Our seniors stepped up and led our team tonight,” North Laurel coach Kayla Carson said. “Lauren and Haley offensively and Bailey defensively. They definitely showed that they aren’t ready for the season to be over.

“As a team, we passed the ball well and were able to open the game up offensively,” Carson added. “We’re looking forward to the opportunity to play for another district championship.”
