Lady Colonels roll, sweep Williamsburg in three sets

WILLIAMSBURG —Whitley County continued its strong late-season push with a dominant sweep over Williamsburg in 50th District action, winning 25-14, 25-12, and 25-7.

The Lady Colonels improved to 24-4 on the season while ending the Lady Yellow Jackets’ six-game win streak, dropping them to 17-13.

“This was a great district win for us,” Whitley County coach David Halcomb said. “I was very pleased with the morale of the team — total team effort and the girls were executing and having fun out there. I was particularly pleased with our serving and defense tonight. We look forward to heading to Lexington on Friday to participate in the Halloween Smash at Lafayette. This will give us an opportunity to play some really good teams and continue to improve.”
