Jaguars rally to force a two-all draw with Wayne County

LONDON — It wasn’t a win, but it wasn’t a loss, either.

North Laurel battled from a 2-0 deficit to force a two-all draw with Wayne County on Tuesday.

The Jaguars are now 6-4-2 on the season.

“We came out a little flat again tonight, but I felt like we held our own for the first 20 minutes,” North Laurel coach David Broyles said. “We had an unlucky bounce with our keeper charging a 50/50 ball that led us to being down 1-0. A few minutes later a questionable hand ball in the box gave them a 2-0 advantage on the PK.

“We got to within 2-1 when Jaxon Jacobs was fouled in the box and converted a PK for us,” he added. “It stayed that way for the rest of the half. We came out the second half with energy and had several dangerous attacks, but their keeper made some really good saves. We tied it up with 20 minutes to go when Jaxon Jacobs found Reilly Stuber with a nice slotted ball that he put in the back of the net. From there, we had more chances but didn’t convert. We played a great second half and controlled the game, but just came up short on the win.”
