CORBIN — Another slow start put Lynn Camp in a position from playing behind, and the Wildcats never recovered.
Tyler Wagner’s squad is showing signs of improvement, but inconsistencies have been their worst enemy.
Case in point — their slow start against Frankfort, scoring only 16 points in the first half, led to a 50-38 loss on Monday.
“Tonight was the same song to a different beat,” Wagner said. “We came out with a sluggish start and put ourselves in a hole and they never let us out of it. The ball stuck a lot tonight, and we didn’t move it very well. When we ran our stuff we would get the look we wanted.
“We had signs of good defense and good offense when we would move the ball, and when we would communicate on defense, and sit down and guard,” he added. “Ian Agosto returned tonight and he gave us some intensity and ball pressure we’ve been missing. But collectively as a group it wasn’t there.”
Ethan Burd led Lynn Camp (2-11) with 11 points while Caleb Woods finished with 10 points.
“One thing I can say about this team is they fight as hard as they can and they haven’t given up,” Wagner said. “But until we start playing together for an entire game, it’s going to keep being the same result. But this is not any reason for us to hit the panic button, this is time for us to see who really wants to be here and start doing things the right way and we will find that out very soon.”
