WILLIAMSBURG — Whitley County continued its impressive season with another dominant 50th District performance, sweeping Williamsburg 25-4, 25-8, 25-15.
The Lady Colonels improved to 16-1 on the season after controlling the match from the opening set.
“Another good 50th District win for us tonight,” Whitley County coach David Halcomb said. “I thought our serving was really good all night.”
Whitley County raced through the first two sets, allowing only 12 combined points while taking commanding 25-4 and 25-8 victories.
Williamsburg put together its best showing in the third, but the Lady Colonels remained in control and closed out the sweep with a 25-15 win.
Whitley County will now turn its attention toward preparing for the First Priority Volleyball Classic, which will bring 15 other teams from across Kentucky together for tournament play.
“We will have a good day of practice tomorrow in preparation for our First Priority Volleyball Classic,” Halcomb said. “We have 15 other teams coming in from across the state. It’s always a great tournament and we are looking forward to it. Go Colonels.”
