Balanced attack powers South Laurel past Hazard, 8-0

LONDON — South Laurel received goals from eight different players as the Cardinals rolled to an 8-0 victory over Hazard in boys soccer action on Tuesday.
The Cardinals displayed a balanced offensive attack throughout the match, with Jase Jones, Blake Robinson, Eli Williams, Chris Ramirez, Seth Reece, Aarav Patel, David Melino and Diego Sagastume each finding the back of the net. Melino’s goal came on a penalty kick.
“I thought we had an all-around great effort with moving the ball around tonight,” South Laurel coach Brooks Cawood said. “We played as a team and did very well supporting one another.”
Robinson also contributed two assists while making an impact at multiple positions.
Cawood was also pleased with the leadership his seniors provided during the shutout victory.
“Seniors Drew Allen, Ryan Martinez and Bryce Jones all played excellent and are showing great leadership,” Cawood said. “Blake Robinson also had two assists and played well in multiple positions.”
