Thompson Scores Lone Goal as North Laurel Falls to Garrard County

LANCASTER — Presley Thompson provided North Laurel’s offense with a left-footed goal, but the Lady Jaguars couldn’t overcome a strong Garrard County squad in a 6-1 loss.

North Laurel kept the contest within reach during the opening half, limiting Garrard County to two goals before the Lady Golden Lions were able to pull away after halftime.

“Garrard is a very good team from front to back,” North Laurel coach Jason Welch said. “We were able to hold them to two in the first half, and I thought we had a good chance to keep the game close, but they were able to poke a few balls past our keeper from just a few feet out to put us out of reach of a comeback.”

Thompson prevented the shutout by finding the back of the net for the Lady Jaguars.

“Presley Thompson was able to put in a good left-footed shot for our only goal of the game,” Welch said.
