Myatt Sets Course Record, Leads Lady Redhounds to Class 2A Section 7 Runner-Up Finish

PINEVILLE — Makena Myatt turned in a record-setting performance at Wasioto Winds, firing a 5-under-par 67 to capture the individual championship and lead the Corbin Lady Redhounds to a runner-up finish in the Class 2A, Section 7 Tournament.
Myatt’s 67 established a new course record and earned her a spot in the Class 2A State Tournament.
She won’t be making the trip alone.
Corbin teammate Kalyn Watkins finished as the individual runner-up after shooting an 82, securing her place alongside Myatt at the state tournament.
The Lady Redhounds received contributions throughout their lineup on the way to their second-place team finish. Kylie Cuel shot a 112 while Khloe Gregory shot a personal-best 126.
“I couldn’t be more proud of these girls and the way they competed and carried themselves today,” Corbin coach Latoshia Davis said. “They each showed improvement, battled through the course, and represented Corbin with Redhound Pride!”
