PINEVILLE — Pineville’s serving game was nearly unstoppable Tuesday as the Lady Lions recorded 47 aces on their way to a dominating straight-set victory over Cumberland Gap, Tenn.
The Lady Lions won 25-5, 25-7 and 25-3 to even their record at 1-1.
Lexie led Pineville’s impressive performance from the service line with 12 aces as the Lady Lions committed only six serving errors during the match.
Pineville also received contributions throughout its lineup offensively, with 13 different players recording at least one kill. Peyshaunce was perfect on her five attacks, finishing with five kills.
“I’m definitely happy to clean up our mistakes from last night!” Pineville coach Sam North said. “We only had 6 serving errors tonight and had 47 aces as a team with Lexie leading the charge with 12. We were also able to get all of our offensive threats firing with 13 different girls having kills on the night, including Peyshaunce going 5 for 5 on attacks. Cumberland Gap is revitalizing their program and I can see a lot of potential for their future.”
