Corum Earns First Win as South Laurel Rolls Past Harlan County, 10-2

HARLAN — Lanea French erupted for seven goals Tuesday as South Laurel rolled to a 10-2 win over Harlan County, giving Amy Corum her first victory as head coach of the Lady Cardinals.

French accounted for seven of South Laurel’s 10 goals while also contributing two assists in the impressive offensive performance.

Bella Comley scored twice and added two assists while Kylee Woods found the net on a corner and also recorded three assists.

Malia French added three assists for the Lady Cardinals.

The victory was a special one for Corum, who picked up her first win since taking over the South Laurel program.

“Great team effort all-around,” Corum said. “So proud of this team for coming together and playing as a team. They had the best energy from the start of the game.”

South Laurel finished with 10 goals and 10 assists in the victory.
