CORBIN — Emma Massengill found the back of the net for Corbin as the Lady Redhounds battled Middlesboro to a 1-1 draw Tuesday.
Corbin got off to a slow start against a physical Middlesboro squad before beginning to settle into the match.
“It took us a little while to get going tonight,” Corbin coach Hannah Goins said. “We looked a little slow coming out.”
The Lady Redhounds began creating more opportunities as the match progressed, but Massengill’s goal proved to be their only score of the night.
“Middlesboro is always a very tough physical game, and we struggled stepping to the ball early,” Goins said. “We finally started coming together, but it was a little late in the game. We had some good opportunities in the second half but just couldn’t find the back of the net. We’re a very young team, we’re still working on finding the right combination and learning to play together.”
